Sir Willard White and Friends Sunday 5 October, 6pm, Town Hall Join us for a spectacular display of vocal talent from Sir Willard White and his friends, in the intimate surroundings of Town Hall. Sir Willard White launches the inaugural gala of the Black British Classical Foundation and the VOBOs - the competition to find the best Voice of Black Opera across the Commonwealth. The foundation aims are to increase the take up of Black and Asian young people into classical music and develop new audiences from under represented communities. The evening will consist of operatic arias and spirituals performed by Josephine Amankwah, mezzo soprano, Alison Buchannan, soprano, John Colyn-Gyeante, tenor, and many more. The Evening will be accompanied by Town Hall Associate Artist Orchestra of The Swan, and the CBSOs Young People's Choir. The Black British Classical Foundation invites you take part in one of the most ground breaking events that         has happened for years. The VOBOs (Voice of Black Opera) is a biennial competition which aims to find the best operatic voice in the Black Commonwealth.  It will encourage, promote and support established operatic talent; and those young and yet to be unearthed.  It also aims to develop new performers and audiences from under served communities.

Held at Birmingham Town Hall and accompanied by in house Orchestra - The Swan, this event aims to attract a target audience of ABC1's, the traditional Opera and Theatre goers, and through our network of community, opera and theatre groups in Birmingham and surrounding districts, we aim to develop a take up of a new audience; to which we offer you the opportunity of accessing.

Three opportunities under one roof come in the form of Sponsorships, Tickets Sales, and Advertising in our Inaugural Commemorative Brochure.

We are encouraging sponsors to purchase tickets which can be given to groups within underserved communities, school, colleges and senior citizen.
